About the Artist

"I strive to capture and preserve a fascinating moment in nature in my paintings. When I focus on some aspect of the interaction of animals in their environment, and the forces pressing on both, it brings out incredible emotions of excitement, wonder, awe, and a strong drive to somehow preserve what is left of the natural world.

"I've painted most of my life. Although I had other careers, nothing compares to painting in offering enrichment, satisfaction, and complete absorption in an endeavor. Now I paint exclusively, mostly in the studio, and mostly in oil. My paintings are based on resource material gathered on travels and my immediate surroundings. Sometimes even our canyon and beaches offer dramatic inspiration.”

Claudia lives and paints in Vancouver, Washington. She studied Fine Art at the University of California, Los Angeles, and continues to take workshops from artists she admires.
